The Pennsylvania Supreme Court is upholding the state Gaming Control Board's decision to award a resort slots casino license to the Valley Forge Convention Center outside Philadelphia.

Tuesday's high court decision hinged in part on whether the 488-room King

of Prussia facility qualified as a "well-established resort hotel" under the state slot-machine gambling law.

The court vote was 3-to-2 against the owners of Parx Casino in Bensalem, which had challenged the license. Two justices didn't participate.

Justice Michael Eakin, in a dissent, says the Valley Forge Convention Center "is many things, but it simply is not a resort."

The license gives Valley Forge the right to operate up to 600 slot machines and 50 table games.
