LAS VEGAS — Police are calling the death of a 25-year-old New Jersey man a suicide after he spent nearly two hours on a ledge before jumping from a Las Vegas Strip high-rise casino resort.

security officers summoned Las Vegas police a little before 4:45 a.m. Friday to a report that the man was on a fourth-floor ledge of the 51-story tower.

Despite efforts to talk the man down, he jumped a little before 6:30 a.m.

Morgan says he was pronounced dead at University Medical Center. His name and hometown weren't immediately made public.

Traffic was diverted briefly away from Harmon Avenue between Interstate 15 to Las Vegas Boulevard after the man jumped.
