Tonight's episode of Smallville was "Fortune." The gang celebrated, but after drinking spiked champagne, they woke up with no memory of the night before.

Chloe gives a toast before everyone sets out.

The morning after

Smallville title letters Clark wakes up and finds a ring on his finger, a lemur in his room, and Chloe in a wedding dress in his closet with a matching ring. They try to piece together what happened and realize Zatanna sent magical champagne. They find his wallet on the limo. Clark finds a text from Lois, "I just need more time." Chloe convinces him that Lois won’t bail. She finds Emil’s pants and half of a wedding certificate with her signature.

Clark finds Tess and Emil, dressed as Elvis, putting on a show. The limo driver directs him to the Chapel of Love. The police arrest Emil about an armored car he apparently made vanish. Tess joins Clark and points out he’s the only one she knows who could do that.

Lois and Oliver wake up on railroad tracks. He’s wearing a bright green suit, and neither have their cell phones. She’s missing her ring.

In Watchtower, Tess looks for the missing car and offers the computer work to Chloe, who turns it down. She finds footage of a missing vehicle and tracks it—he has the remote and it’s at the farm. When he opens the door, money falls out.

Lois is upset she lost her ring and says they can’t tell Clark. Oliver says he’ll help her find it, and she finds a poker chip in her bra from the Fortune Casino.

Chloe tells them there’s no trace of Emil at the police station. Emil is being beaten up and questioned about the missing money. There’s video of the car going missing and Emil celebrating. Amos Fortune is also missing his lemur and doesn’t believe Emil when he says it looks like someone was trying to prevent a robbery, placing blame on Fortune’s henchmen.

Fortune Casino on Smallville

At the Casino, Lois is worried she bet the ring—and she did. She argues that she wouldn’t bet it unless it was a sure thing and says she was scammed. She spots her ring on Fortune’s finger, but he ties up her and Oliver backstage. She says she wanted it to be perfect, and they commiserate about Clark’s perfection. He frees them, but she refuses to leave without her ring.

Chloe and Clark show up at the Casino, and she spots Lois and Oliver onstage dancing—their way out. Fortune spots Chloe and a fight breaks out. Lois knocks her ring off his finger and chases it over the floor. Oliver and Chloe take out Fortune’s henchmen. Lois finds her ring, and Oliver saves her when Fortune steps in.

Emil realizes that the robbery was a scam to earn Fortune more money, and Clark comes to his rescue just in time.

Chloe says goodbye

Clark finds Chloe in the loft, and she tells him she talked to the chapel—it was all a drunk prank. He says it sounds like she’s saying goodbye, and she says he’s right. She can’t be Watchtower anymore. She says she thinks her true calling is finding heroes and helping them realize their full potential. She has found others (Batman and Wonder Woman). Chloe now has a double identity—she’s going to work in Star City. She says she’ll still always be there for him, and they hug.

Tess tells Emil he rocked the town, and he says he hasn’t done something like that since his wife died. She tells him not to give up singing. Lois enters with Emil’s camera. Lois tells Clark she bet the ring and asks him to forgive her. He says she’s important, not the ring. He says he was worried he had scared her away, but she says it’s not that. He understands if she’s having doubts and will want to marry her whenever she’s ready.

On the tape, Clark says Lois is the love of his life, and the champagne obviously affects everyone. Emil filmed Clark and Oliver talking about rings in the bathroom. Oliver pulled Lois away asking for her help. Chloe and Oliver look at each other while they’re watching the video, and she walks away. At the end of the video, they watch Emil and Tess kissing.

Oliver catches up to Chloe on the street—he knows she’s leaving again. He knows she wasn’t going to stay in Watchtower for the rest of her life and gives her the other half of the marriage certificate—she married him. He’s not letting her leave without him—she did take a job in his hometown.
