Would an upscale casino turn Block E's luck around? The owner of the downtown Minneapolis retail complex thinks so and has been pitching the idea to local and state officials, the Business Journal's Sam Black reports.
Alatus says its
Alatus owners Phillip Jaffee and Bob Lux, who bought Block E last year, have approached leaders such as Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak and Ted Mondale, Metropolitan Sports Commission chairman. No formal plans have been set yet.
After the Business Journal broke the news, the Star Tribune followed up with its own report, which includes comment from the president of Graves Hospitality Corp., which runs the Graves 601 Hotel Wyndham Grand, adjacent to Block E.
