ATLANTIC CITY — The executive director of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority, Thomas Carver,

submitted his resignation letter to Gov. Chris Christie today, a day after the governor said he wanted the Democratic holdover out, according to a report on PressofAtlanticCity.com.

The state agency, which takes a percentage of casino profits and reinvests them in neighborhood development, was recently given power by Christie and the Legislature to control the Tourism District of Atlantic City, the report stated. Carver has been serving on a month-to-month basis since 2009, when then-Gov. Jon Corzine failed to give him an extension.
