Casino cheats are always looking for a way to get dealers and other casino employees to come to the dark side and help them steal money from the casino. In Minnesota, a blackjack dealer was paying his gambling friends for losing hands.

The scam only went on for so long before the dealer, Jacob Edwin Christensen, was busted for his actions. In all,

Christensen gave away almost $20,000 of the casinos money to gamblers who had losing hands. On January 6th, Christensen pleaded guilty to gambling fraud.

This week, Judge Diane Hanson ordered Christensen to repay $18,720 to the Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake. In addition to the repayment order, the twenty-four year old must also serve three years of probation and serve eighty hours of community service.

Prior Lake police investigated the fraud after they were called by the casino. There were several incidents in which players were losing their hands, but Christensen was paying the gamblers as if they had won. The authorities started to connect the instances, and eventually Christensen was arrested and charge3d with gambling fraud and theft by swindle.

The card player who was busted along with Christensen gave back the false winnings from the blackjack table. Authorities then contacted the card player at a later date and taped the conversation. The gambler revealed he knew what was going on, and that is why he agreed to pay back the money that was being stolen.

Casino scams are nothing new in the industry. In the past couple of months, members of the biggest casino scam in the history of the US have taken turns parading into courtrooms and pleading guilty for their roles in the operation. The operation is said to have spanned many states, with millions of dollars being cheated from the casinos.
