BATTLE CREEK -- Former "American Idol" contestant Matt Giraud will ring in the New Year at FireKeepers Casino in Battle Creek.
The Kalamazoo native will host the countdown to New Year's Eve during the event, which will include party favors, free dancing and
Giraud, a singer, songwriter and musician, was a standout in season 8 of “American Idol.” Giraud will perform for free in the center of the casino floor from 11:30 p.m. through midnight and lead the countdown into 2011.
The Kabaret lounge will feature variety band Project 32. The show begins at 7 p.m. and goes until 2 a.m with a $10 cover charge.
In addition, Nibi restaurant will offer a three course surf and turf menu, along with party favors and champagne for $200 per couple.
The casino is located off Int. 94 at Exit 104 in Battle Creek.
